EASTWIND project: Workpackage 1Topic: Analyses and feasibility studiesThis workpackage focusses on determining potentials of wind energy use in the Russian Federation. Several analysis will create the basis to evaluate the existing situation and to determine strategies for the establishment of wind energy use as a general idea (closely connected to the marketing in workpackage 3) and of future wind farm projects. Parallel to the analyses that combine local, regional and national knowhow with the wind energy competences of the WEBSR-network established in the former InterregIII-project, meetings with German decision-makers will be arranged at and around the wind energy fair in Husum (autumn 2007). Wind farm potential analysis in the two partner regions shall be carried out to define potential wind farm sites and to initiate future projects. All results will be turned into recommendations and evaluations addressed to decision makers and potential investors regarding wind energy projects. These recommendations and results will be distributed RU-wide via the networks represented by the Russian partners. Existing problems will be discussed in workshops and meetings with stakeholders.
