This last meeting of the project team took place in the nice City of Pskov. All project partners presented their joint project results there to guests from Pskov region. In addition, we had guest presentations of invited speakers. The meeting took place in a nice and constructive atmosphere. Wind energy study trip to Poland09-11-03 || Kristina Koebe
Study trip to
Poland within the Project “East Wind” took place on September 9-11, 2009. The
team included 8 participants from Immanuel Kant State University of Russia and
Kaliningrad State Technical University.
During the study trip we had 2 lectures by Kaliningrad expert about Wind
energy development in Poland and about Alternative Energy in Poland (by
Associated Prof. Nadezda Tsupikova). During the
trip we visited Polish Wind Energy Society in Gdansk where we met Mr.Maciej
Bartmanski, vice-president of the society. He and his assistant delivered us
lectures on activity of their society, their main projects, development of wind
energy production in Round table on wind energy in Pskov on the 18.5.200909-05-25 || Kristina Koebe
The Round table was held on the theme "Wind energy potential and prospects of its use in the Pskov area". Participants were administration members, scientists, museum workers, journalists - 19 persons in total. It was the start of the marketing campaign that will be carried out within the context of the "Eastwind"-project. As the topic of the event, wind energy, met remarkable interest among the participants - all of them contributed actively to the discussion. In this context, the results of the two first project stages were presented: the results of the opinion poll and the research work done so far. An external expert from the Polytechnic institute in Pskov informed about wind potential of the Pskov area and, in this context, specified perspective areas. The last changes in the legislation on small power were discussed, too. On the basis of this information we discussed possible future projects and discussed both old ideas new ones. Newspapers will issue articles on the round table on the 21 th, 27 th and 28th of May, and 1th of June 2009. The international conference "Wind energy for sustainable community development" organised by the Eastwind project team and financed by our project will take place on the 27. and 28. April 2009 at the Immanuel Kant State University of Russia in Kaliningrad. The main topics of the conference are devoted to the prospects of the realization of the new energy policy under the Global Crisis, tendency of the wind-energy development as one of the most world-wide used source of alternative energy, to the analyses of the economic and law basis for the wind energy market in Russia, to the analysis of the utilization of the EU best-practice for wind energy development in the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russian Federation. Test-run of the online-course "Wind Energy Basics" successfully started08-11-18 || Kristina Koebe
The test run of the online-course “Wind Energy Basics”, elaborated and prepared during the first project year, started on the 10th of October 2008. The course will last for 10 weeks until 19th of December 2008. It will run on a part time basis (1/2 time); a 5 week full time course that runs for 11 weeks. This means that it will be possible to participate in the course by studying in the evenings and on holidays. After a successful start of the project in Spring/Summer 2007, the second partner meeting took place in Rostock on 13.11.2007. It provided the opportunity to present first project results to the "EASTWIND"-team and to discuss it with other partners. Among these, there were first results of the status analysis regarding wind energy in 2 Russian partner regions, a nearly finalized adaptation of the online-course "Windpower Basics" for use at Russian Universities, recommendations for 2nd-hand wind turbine installations in Russia and first results of the opinion polls on renewable energies / wind energy that are currently carried out in Russia. After finalizing the organisational preparations, the project team started its active co-operation in March 2007 and met for the first time on the Kickoff-meeting in Rostock on the 30./31.5.2007. Based on the efficient and fruitful discussion about the preconditions of the project, focussing on the wind energy situation in Russia nowadays and the working situation of the involved partners, the work of the next month was planned in detail, focussing on opinion polls on wind energy in two partner regions and first detailed analyses of the wind energy situation, considering economics as well as the legal and environmental situation – works which are currently carried out by all partners in co-operation.
